Hennepin Partners Advises Bryant Christie Inc. on its Sale of BCGlobal to FoodChain ID

Seattle, Washington – Bryant Christie Inc. announced that BCGlobal, a suite of agricultural trade regulatory intelligence and database solutions, has been acquired by FoodChain ID, a portfolio company of Berkshire Partners. Hennepin Partners served as Bryant Christie’s exclusive financial advisor and Polsinelli PC served as legal counsel.

BCGlobal, formerly the regulatory data and software division of Bryant Christie Inc., is a leading provider of database subscription services delivering timely and accurate information on the highly nuanced and constantly evolving global regulatory requirements impacting the trade of food, beverage, and agricultural products. The platform’s easy-to-use software quickly and seamlessly enables users to identify and compare international regulations. As the gold standard in agricultural commodity regulatory trade information, BCGlobal is a trusted partner of governments and leading private corporations across the food and beverage industry.

BCGlobal differentiates itself with data source accuracy and know-how, a systemized proprietary data collection process, and a complex algorithmic rules-based engine. The company has 14,000+ active users across 36 countries, and shares many key customers with FoodChain ID.

“FoodChain ID stood apart from other possible buyers because they shared our commitment to accuracy and customer service, and because they appreciated the value of the BCGlobal team,” said Bill Bryant, chairman Bryant Christie, Inc. “While we had big plans for BCGlobal, FoodChain ID has the global presence and technology resources needed to take the BCGlobal modules to their next levels of excellence.”

“This acquisition is a strong strategic fit with FoodChain ID’s technical services, testing, and food safety business. It expands our suite of technologies that make the food supply chain safe, compliant, and transparent,” explained FoodChain ID CEO Brad Riemenapp. “BCGlobal is the only company in its space to provide a complete, accurate, and timely full turn-key regulatory compliance data supply chain solution. In addition, its proprietary data sets provide additional capabilities to our current and future technology products and further enable our technology/data strategy.”

“Bryant Christie Inc. is grateful to Hennepin Partners for their excellent representation. They guided us through a very thorough process that resulted in significant interest in BCGlobal. We are very pleased with the outcome,” said James Christie, president of Bryant Christie Inc.
